1 John 1:5 (KJV)
This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
There is no darkness in God, for He is light.
John 3:19-21 (King James Version)
And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
Evil and sin are represented as darkness, but truth and goodness are represented as light.
God is light because God is good. When Moses saw God’s glory, God showed Him that He is good, merciful, kind and loving (Ex 33:18-19; 34:5-7).
Likewise, God cannot be responsible for darkness for He is light.
Put another way- God is not and can not be responsible for sin or any of its consequences, for where there is light there is no darkness at all!
Romans 6:23 (KJV)
For the wages of sin is death…
The consequence of sin is death. God does not cause death, but rather, death is a consequence of sin.
Romans 5:12 tells us something that happened way back when Adam sinned.
Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: (KJV)
When Adam sinned, the consequences of sin passed to us all. Thus we experience, pain, sickness, suffering, death.
But praise God He did not stop where Adam sinned!!
Romans 6:23 (KJV)
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
God has given to us eternal life in His Son Jesus Christ.
Romans 5:21 (King James Version)
That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.
Even though darkness came in when Adam sinned, praise God that He has given to us His Son and He has shone His light upon us that we no longer have to walk in darkness, but we can walk in His light and receive eternal Life!
