Last week we looked at the important work that has been entrusted to parents. Once again we continue with praying for parents.
Today many people the world over are celebrating Christmas. Loads of gifts are given as an expression of love on Christmas Day.
Some parents who might not have been able to provide their children with the gifts they requested might be feeling sad today. Still they are others who have given their children all that they wanted and more, and so they feel like they have accomplished their objective as a parent.
But, there is more to being a parent than gift giving and satisfying a child’s physical and material needs.
There is something eternally more precious that parents can give their children- and not just on Christmas Day, but on every day of their children’s life.
This gift is a knowledge of our Saviour.
When we have this gift we have all that we need and eternally more, for having Christ is having all things, because in Him all things hold together (Colossians 1:17), in Christ there are unsearchable riches (Ephesians 3:8).
So today, whether you gave gifts of not remember the most important gift you can give your children, and anyone for that matter, and give them a knowledge of Christ!
Lord teach me to create an environment that surrounds my children where I give them the best gift they can ever have-A knowledge of YOU!
