I remember a woman at church saying that there is only so much a mother can do in training boys and that fathers needed to spend more time with their sons showing them how to be males.
Many fathers don’t really realize their important role in modelling how their sons are to be. Unfortunately with work and long hours and long commutes to and from work, some fathers are gone from 5:00 a.m. and return at 7:00 p.m. and the son’s bedtime is at 7:30 p.m.
In a situation like this, it really looks like the odds are stacked against that father spending time and training that son. But even though the time is limited, the quality of time fathers spend with their sons is vital.
“It is not so much the quantity of time fathers spend with their sons, but the quality of time he spends with them.”
So to you fathers
– Make as much time as possible to spend with your sons alone without their mother.
– Make the time you spend with your son quality time, where you get to know your son and he gets to know you.
– Teach your son how to be a man- responsible, strong, caring yet gentle and loving.
– Show him who you are so he would want to be like you when he grows up
God calls us to be like Him- the best FATHER IN THE UNIVERSE!
