No greater love does a man have
Than to die for his friends
But greater still is that love
When he could die for his enemies
New American Bible (Revised Edition) (NABRE)
But God proves his love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us.
Have you stopped to really consider that the God of the universe came and gave His life for us?
Now consider that He did it for people who were His enemies.
When Adam sinned all men became sinners and therefore all men became seperated fromGod and became haters of God. The Son of God came and died for us who hated Him. He did come to die for those that were good, because NONE is good apart from Him.
It is because of what He did on the cross that we are able to be changed from depraved individuals, to those who have the love of God.
And consider that when He came to die for us sinners, He made that decision not only knowing that we were His enemies, but He also knew that most of us would not accept the gift of Life He gave to us. He died knowing that most would scoff at His sacrifice and spurn His love and reject Him.
