When we look at this world and all of the suffering, violence and crime it is easy for us to become discouraged- that is if we had no hope.
But as Christians we do have a hope. That hope is in the fact that Jesus promised that He will come again.
John 14:1-3 (NASB)
“Do not let your heart be troubled; [a]believe in God, believe also in Me.
In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you.
If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also.”
When He comes again, He says that things will be new. There will be no more suffering, sickness, death or pain.
Revelation 21:1-4 NASB
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and there is no longer any sea.
And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband.
And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will [a]dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them[b],
and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.”
Are you sick?
Are you alone?
Are you suffering?
We do not have to wait forever for this pain to be gone. An end will be put to sin and all of it’s consequences.
No more cancer! No more murder! No more lying! No more loneliness! No more pain! No more babies dying!!
NO MORE praise God!
God loves us and He does not want to see any of us in pain. He longs to free us all from sin and to give us peace forevermore.
