He Came from Heaven to Earth

Today many people celebrated Christmas. For many people this season is a time of remembering the birth of Jesus and a time of giving.

Many people received many gifts and also gave gifts. Some people unfortunately did not receive any gifts at all this season. But there is one gift that both rich and poor, big and little, male or female can receive. This gift was given to us when Jesus came to earth as a babe. But it did not end there.

Sin had sold us out and that meant that the consequences for all of us was death.

God refused to leave us to perish in sin. From all eternity He had planned to save us when we sinned, because He knows all thingsand nothing catches Him by surprise. From before Adam and Eve sinned and indeed before this world was even created, Jesus was the sacrifice and substitute for man. He is the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

Revelation 13:8 KJV
And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

From eternity God had a plan to save us all and that plan included His Son coming as a babe, living a sinless life, suffering and dying on the cross for us.

As we continue to think about that baby boy wrapped in swaddling cloths and laying in a manger, let our minds be filled with the thought that this baby was the eternal God. Let us remember that the God of the universe GAVE His Son for us and to us so that He could save us from sin.

Let our thoughts be ever filled with this knowledge that God so loved us that He sent His Son to save us.

This is the greatest gift of all times and all seasons.

This is an eternal gift that everyone can have.

Let the God who became a helpless babe, took our place, lived our life and died our death- let that same God fill our hearts and change us and save us today.
