Lift Up Your Head

Philippians 2:14-17 (NASB)
Do all things without grumbling or disputing; so that you will prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world, holding fast the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I will have reason to glory because I did not run in vain nor toil in vain

Some time last year we studied a bit about the reformers. We learned about the Waldenses during that time. It was very inspiring to hear their story. These people lived in the midst of a world darkened by superstition, plagued by torture and persecution. Yet they raised their children for God and were able to send them out with a message of hope, love and salvation.

We are living in perilous times. Signs are all around us that the end is near. Like those Waldensian parents, we must raise our children to shine as lights in this sin-darkened world.

When our eyes are turned to God, away from the cares and distractions of this world, then we will see and know how we are to live and raise these children in this time.

Prayer:

Dear God, we turn our eyes to You today. We ask that You direct our lives. We commit our lives to you that You may show us how to raise our children. Oh we have come to such as time and this and we pray that in contrast to the great darkness that is in this world, that our families might shine as lights today. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen
