A Solemn Responsibility to Lead

following

Genesis 7:1
Then the Lord said to Noah, “Enter the ark, you and all your household, for you alone I have seen to be righteous before Me in this time.

Noah was righteous man. It was becUse of his righteousness that his family entered the ark. As parents, just like Noah, our righteous lives can be a blessing to our family. This blessing is especially true of fathers. Fathers have a great influence on their children. Without much effort at all, we see such a great impact that fathers have on their children.

Oh that parents, especially fathers, will see their influence and recognize that their children are following their example. Oh let us follow the path to life, that our children may also follow that path.

Prayer:
Dear Lord, we come to You this morning praying for the influence of parents upon their families. Our children are following our example. We acknowledge that a lot of time the example that we would have given them has been wrong. We ask that You would forgive us and change us, so that the example that we show will point the to You.

We pray for fathers especially, as they have a great influence on their families, especially their children, who love to be like them. Help them to set good examples to their families. Help them to be conscious of the lives that they are leading and how it is impacting their children and families. Help them to walk as lights just like those fathers of old did. This we pray In the name of Jesus. Amen.
