Till I’ve Been Born Again

Matthew 16:26
For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul?

It is easy to grasp at the things of this world because they are what we can immediately see. Self loves praise, it loves to be important. And so many times we want try to attain to things that will make us feel important in people’s eyes.

But after we have grasped all the things that we can grasp in this world, at the expense of our soul, what will all of these things do for us at the last day?

Matthew 6:19 – 21
“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.
But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal; for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Our treasure is not on this earth. Our treasure is in heaven.

Let us allow Jesus to give us that new birth. Let us allow Him to cleanse out all of our sin as we surrender to Him.

Help me to take my eyes off of this world and fix them on You, Lord. Help me to lay up treasures in heaven instead of on this earth. Lord, I surrender to You. Make me who You want me to be. Help me to live a life’s that is an example to all those who come into contact with me, so this time You will be seen and they can be drawn to You and be saved. Amen.
